How Long Does Boiler Installation Take?

Boiler installations carried out by our specialist engineers take between one and two days. We are proud to offer a fast and efficient boiler installation service, ensuring your new boiler is up and running as quickly as possible.

Sometimes, a boiler install may take a little bit longer due to the amount of work required. For example, you might need old pipework and radiators removed, or you might be keen to completely relocate your boiler. Whatever your requirements, we will always be sure to discuss your needs beforehand and share how long we expect your boiler install to take.

Remove the Old Boiler

The first stage in any boiler installation process is to remove the old boiler. We recommend you clear the area around your boiler so that our engineers can work freely. At this stage, if you are having your new boiler installed elsewhere in your home, our engineers will remove any pipework and radiators alongside your old boiler. This will ensure you’re not left with redundant pipework or radiators in your home.

New Boiler Installation

Our engineers will then flush the system and install the new boiler you have chosen. As part of this process, our engineers will reconnect the water inlet, pipes, and install a new boiler flue. You should only get our Gas Safe Certified engineers to install your new boiler. You should never attempt a boiler installation yourself.

Boiler Controls and Report Run-through

Once your new boiler is installed, our engineers will run you through how it works, from the controls to the various functions. They will also provide you with a report and answer any questions you may have. This stage of the installation process ensures you know how to use your new boiler efficiently with confidence.

Types of Boilers Our Engineers Install

We are proud to be accredited Baxi, Potterton, Viessmann, and Vaillant boiler installers, installing high-quality boilers from reputable manufacturers. Whether you’ve already chosen your boiler for installation or you’re still searching for the right fit, we’d be happy to help. Below are the three types of boilers our engineers install.

Combi Boilers

The Combi boiler is famous for being Britain’s favourite boiler. This compact boiler model is ideal for installing in cupboards, making it a great space-saving option for smaller properties. Combi boilers supply both your water and central heating needs - making them an ideal combination boiler for everyone.

System Boilers

System boilers are ideal when you have a water cylinder in your home. With a System boiler you’ll always have a store of hot water and can access this whenever you need it.

Heat Only Boilers

Ideal for larger properties, Heat Only boilers can heat large amounts of water at once. This means you can have a shower while someone else washes the dishes. Heat Only boilers are a popular option for larger properties and those with busy households.

4 Signs You Need a New Boiler

So, you suspect you might need a new boiler installed. But how do you know for certain? Most of us don’t give much thought to our boilers until something goes wrong and it’s too late. So, below are 4 signs you need a new boiler installed in your property.

Energy Efficient

Older boilers aren’t as energy efficient as newer models. So, not only are they worse for the environment but they could be costing you more in your energy bills. Whether your boiler is causing rising energy costs, fluctuating temperatures, or strange noises, it is probably time for a new boiler to be installed.

Running Expenses

Rising energy bills are common in older boilers. So, if your boiler is costing you more to run and you’re noticing a rise in your energy bills, it might be time to organise a new boiler installation. You should also consider a new boiler if you are regularly paying out for boiler repairs.

Boiler Age

Boilers are considered old when they reach 15 years. So, even if your boiler seems like it’s working effectively, if it’s 15 years or older it’s time to sort a replacement. An old boiler will be costing you more to run as it won’t be working as efficiently as a newer model. So, if your boiler is especially old, it’s time to have a new boiler installed.

Not Meeting Your Needs

Sometimes, you can outgrow your existing boiler. This can happen when your family grows or you have more people living in your home. If your boiler is struggling to keep up with the hot water and central heating demands of your household, you might want to consider a new boiler installation.

Where to Buy a New Boiler

Choosing a new boiler for installation can be difficult, especially when you aren’t familiar with the various types of boiler. At City Warmth, we’re here to help. We can advise you on the best boiler for your property and needs.

What’s more, we also offer affordable boiler packages to help keep the cost of your new boiler installation affordable. You can browse our fixed price products and speak to our team. We will be happy to help you find the best boiler to suit your needs and budget.
